What are Wrinkle Relaxers?
Wrinkle Relaxers are a purified protein, which cause temporary muscle weakening/paralysis.
Wrinkle relaxers contain botulinum toxin, a naturally occurring protein extract and is generally well tolerated in the minute levels administered for cosmetic use.
How do Wrinkle Relaxers Work?
A very small dose of wrinkle relaxer is injected in the specific frown muscles causing lines and wrinkles. Once the muscles are relaxed, the overlying wrinkles in the frown may soften or reduce. The treatment takes around 10-15 minutes and is minimally invasive and relatively pain free.
How quickly will I see results from Wrinkle Relaxers?
You may notice the results in just 2-3 days. The peak effect is between 10-21 days after treatment. If you decide not to continue your Wrinkle Relaxer treatment, your muscle activity will gradually return and your wrinkles will slowly reappear. Your wrinkles will not be worse than your pre-treatment state.
It is an excellent treatment for 'dynamic' wrinkles such as crow's feet, frown lines and forehead lines. Wrinkle Relaxers have been used for years to decrease lines of facial expressions in the face thus leaving you looking younger and more refreshed. A small amount of wrinkle relaxer is injected using a tiny needle into the muscle that needs to be weakened. There is a slight sting feeling for a few seconds, then it is painless. There is no down time at all.
Wrinkle Relaxers can be used for the following:
• Crow's feet
• Forehead lines
• Frown lines
• Eyebrow lifting
What results should I expect?
When frown lines are relaxed after a treatment, the skin around the area will look smooth and less wrinkled. Wrinkle Relaxers allow the untreated areas to move as normal. You will still be able to laugh, smile and frown, just with less wrinkling of the skin in the treated areas.
